Care Closer to Home Event – 12th February 2015

Greater Huddersfield and North Kirklees Commissioning Groups are involving patients, carers and stakeholders in decision-making about local health services.  They have already held a number of events during 2014 about the the Care Closer to Home programme in the North Kirklees and Greater Huddersfield areas and what a new model of healthcare might look like.

Following this engagement with patients, carers, the public and key stakeholders, they have developed an integrated service model. It includes service specifications which outline how they want community services to be delivered and what outcomes the new model of service will need to achieve.

The existing contract for community services is coming to an end so both CCGs have started a procurement process to agree who will deliver the new community services.

An update event is being held on:

Thursday 12 February 2015, 10.00am – 12.00pm at the Textile Centre of Excellence, Red Doles Lane, Huddersfield HD2 1YF

Or

 1.30pm – 3.30pm at Batley Town Hall, Market Square, Batley WF17 5DA

At the event they will review how people’s views were used to develop the new models of care and service specifications; and identify how engagement with local people will continue throughout the process to establish the new community services model.

It is likely that local organisations may be involved in the tender process in some way for example they may be a partner or sub-contractor of one of the organisations. We are therefore asking all attendees to consider whether they may have a potential conflict of interest.

A conflict of interest can occur in many circumstances for example:

  • If you or one of family members work for one of the organisations
  • If you are involved with the organisation in any way for example you sit on the board are a fundraiser or part of one of their patient / carer groups
  • Where you would receive some benefit from the organisation being awarded the contract

If you wish to attend the event can you please complete the closer care to home booking-form-12215 and return to Zubair.mayet@nhs.net  by Monday 9 February.
