We collect information from you when you complete our membership form either on paper or via the website.

We collect information such as: your name, address, email address, postal address, phone numbers, and additional information about your child’s additional needs, approximate age and education (but not the name or date of birth of that child).

This information is used to provide information to you (as a parent and/or carer of children with additional needs living in Kirklees) and to work together with you and local service providers to improve services for these children.

In order to have a strong voice to influence local service providers such as Kirklees Council, PCAN aims to have to membership which is representative of the population in Kirklees.  We therefore ask for additional information to help us do this.  We might use anonymised data to show organisations that might fund us that we have a representative membership.

By becoming a member we can communicate with you eg by sending you our newsletters, other relevant information, inviting you to events and asking for your feedback on consultations and other surveys concerning children (0 to 25) with additional needs in Kirklees.  This can be by any method you agreed to on the membership form.

To enable us to communicate with you effectively we may use your data for analysis purposes and to do this we might have to share it with trusted and contracted suppliers.  An example of this might be using the company that holds our data to send communication by email only to those living in a certain part of Kirklees.  If you don’t want your personal information used in this way, then you will need to contact us and we will only be able to communicate with you in future by post and you may not receive the same information as other members.

We take appropriate steps to ensure that your data is kept secure and accurate and only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used.

Disclosing information

We will not pass on your information to third party organisations without your express consent other than as described above.  We may have to disclose your information if required to by law.

Your consent

By providing us with your personal data including sensitive data, you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide as set out above.

Right of Access

You have the right to a copy of the information we hold about you and for any inaccuracies to be corrected.

You can change your personal details by contacting us at the address above or by email at info@pcankirklees.org.

We can amend this statement and if we do, we will post it on our website.
