New arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs – what the changes will mean for you

The Children and Families Act will change the way in which children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities are supported at school and in the community. The Act will be implemented in stages starting in September 2014.

The Department of Education have released a letter to parents outlining what some of the key changes will be. (SEND reforms D of E letter for parents.)

The Council for Disabled Children have released a guide for parents and carers, which explains in more detail what the changes will mean to you and your family and how they are likely to be implemented.
