Kirklees Council is looking to make savings wherever they can due to reduced funding from Central Government. One of the areas they are looking to make cuts is short breaks and respite, in particular the YPAT (Young People’s Activity Team) which is under direct threat of being cut/reduced/redesigned. The Council has to consult with people who use the services and their families before they can cut or reduce a service so please see below links to an online consultation and details of where you can go along and give your views. The survey is valid for everyone who may access short breaks, whether these are the holiday activities like Compass Bridge or Bumpy, YPAT or an inclusive activity in your local community, so please take time to give your views. You have the chance to say why these breaks are/would be important for your child and family and what should be out there for your child/family. You need to complete the survey by 21st October.
