West Yorkshire County Athlete Assessment Day for Disabled Participants – 15th May, Leeds

It is the County Athlete Assessment Day for young disabled participants and is essentially a gifted and talented day to assist participants through specific sports pathways. Traditionally young people were nominated through their school and school sports partnership. However, following the changes to PE and sport we are now opening it up to community groups and organisations. Therefore, please feel free to forward he information onto any of your staff working in this area – we have a maximum number of 100 participants for the event so have approx. 24 places for young people from Kirklees. Carol Thompson from Newsome High School is also coordinating some entries.
Attached is some general information about the event and a couple of case studies from previous years. The ‘Callum’ case study is actually from a young person in Kirklees that is now playing high level table tennis through the English Table Tennis association.
Also attached is the registration form and some FAQ about Playground 2 Podium (P2P)
