Weekends for families with deaf children aged 0 – 4 years old

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is organising the following weekends for families of young deaf children to take place in January and February 2015.

Date: 7th – 8th February 2015

Venue: Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park, Chesterfield Road South, Sheffield S8 8BW.

What’s on offer?  A chance for families with deaf children aged 0 – 2yrs, who have not attended an NDCS weekend before to come together and explore the early stages of their child’s development.  The weekend will be led by experienced NDCS staff and invited specialists, covering topics such as:

  • Early literacy and reading
  • Early numeracy
  • Communication
  • Emotional well-being

What’s on offer? An opportunity for families of deaf children with additional complex needs who are aged 0-4yrs old and who have not attended an NDCS weekend before to spend a relaxing and informative couple of days exploring their child’s early stages of development.  Led by experienced staff and invited speakers, topics will include:

  • supporting your child’s developing communication
  • supporting your child’s learning
  • technology with your deaf child

Please note that both weekends include accommodation and meals.  Creche facilities are provided to enable you to take part in information sessions.
