Kidzaware would like to invite you to attend our Supporting Families Of Young People With A Disability Or Mental Health Need training sessions, they are now able to offer you a discount of 50% the costs of the sessions are now £15.00 this is due to funding received .

The aim of this training is to improve outcomes for young people with a disability or mental health need and their families. We can give you and your school the knowledge to fully understand the daily obstacles that families with disabled young people have to address, and provide you with the necessary skills to improve your communication and support with families and young people .

Our courses have been developed with input from parents and carers of disabled young people, and are presented by Gillian Archbold a person with other 25 years of experience working with families of disabled children and Sabrina Archbold A disabled person herself with over ten years of working with disabled children and adults

They will cover the following key points:

Session 1 – What Is Mental Health?

Session 2 – Addressing the Needs of Families with Disabled Young People

Session 3 – Stress and Anger Management

Session 4 – Confidence and Assertiveness

Session 5 – Taking Care of Individual Needs

Session 6 – Healthy Living

Course details

They are offering this 6 week course twice: one will run in March and one in May. All sessions will take place on Thursdays, between 10am and 3pm and include lunch and refreshments.
