 If you have concerns about a child or young person’s emotional or mental health in Kirklees, please phone the single point of contact 0300 304 5555. Experienced workers will listen to your concerns providing information, advice and self-help resources where they can. It is also the point of access for child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). More information about CAMHS in Kirklees can be found here.

Carers Count: Carers Count provides information and support to anyone acting as an unpaid carer for another individual who cannot manage on their own.  Tel: 0300 012 0231 Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 4 pm

Huddersfield Down Syndrome Support Group: Arrange social, educational and sporting events for children with Down Syndrome and their families. Voluntary group founded and run by parents of children with Down Syndrome

Huddersfield Support Group for Autism: The Huddersfield Support Group for Autism (HSGA) was set up in February 1992 and has held meetings at regular intervals since then. It aims to offer help and advice to families living with Autism, including Aspergers syndrome and Pathological Demand Avoidance syndrome (PDA). A confirmed diagnosis of ASD is not needed to join the group

KIAS:  (formerly known as Parent Partnership Service) is a statutory, free, impartial and confidential service, working with Parents/Carers, Children and Young People.

The service offers information, advice and support relating to a child or young person’s Special Educational Needs and/or disability and is available to anybody living within the Kirklees area.  (A child or young person means aged 0-25 years).

Kirklees Deaf Children’s Society

Kirklees Local Offer – The Local Offer contains information about services relating to special educational needs, disabilities, education and more for children and young people aged 0-25.

Kirklees Family Information Service – for help to find childcare. (There is an online search tool on the webpage.  Telephone service for parents to call (01484 414887)  or you can email them on FIS@kirklees.gov.uk
