A series of drop-in session will take place across Greater Huddersfield and Calderdale to allow people the chance to talk about future plans for the NHS in the area. The events, which will start on May 28 (Salendine Nook YMCA) and run until June 12, will take place in various locations across both areas.
Senior Responsible Officer, Dr Matt Walsh, said: “These events are aimed at giving people the opportunity to share their views on how they think the NHS in the area should look in the future.
“Clearly there is huge public concern over the future of A & E but this is also about a wide review of how services are delivered. Absolutely no decisions have been made. The hospital Trust has made its views clear but they will not make the final decision, this will be made by the Clinical Commissioning Groups. This decision will only be made after engagement and a thorough public consultation.”
As part of the drop in session the public will be able to discuss how the hospital sees the future of services and what the commissioners’ plans for the future are. All the information provided by members of the public will be pulled together and used, along with other engagement, to come up with a set of proposals. This will form the basis for options which will then be the subject of public consultation.
Drop in sessions will take place in Salendine Nook, Slaithwaite, Mytholmroyd, Fartown, Brighouse, Kirkburton, Halifax, Ovenden, Homfirth and Todmorden.
